Role Overview

This position supports the AWS cloud migration of legacy .NET components. The Cloud Engineer will partner with the onshore Scrum team on requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, backlog management, and sprint delivery. Daily collaboration with business partners, product owners, and developers is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Containerize Windows-based applications and services.
  • Refactor legacy Windows components.
  • Migrate Windows components from on-premises environments to AWS.
  • Re-architect applications from on-premises infrastructure into the AWS ecosystem.
  • Support mission-critical Finance and Treasury applications spanning AWS and Azure.
  • Embed DevSecOps pipelines and strengthen non-functional requirements.
  • Enhance production resiliency through Single-AZ to Multi-AZ improvements.
  • Improve resilient cutover and switchover strategies.
  • Deliver full regional resiliency and enhanced CloudWatch monitoring capabilities.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Experience with one or more leading cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Experience: Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and hosting environments.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of application hosting, distributed messaging architectures, networking technologies (VPNs, TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, and load balancing), and cloud connectivity.
  • Understanding of security technologies, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, public key infrastructure (PKI), authentication, authorization, and threat protection.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how infrastructure components work together to provide secure, reliable, and highly available hosted environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Understanding of IT security best practices, governance, compliance requirements, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, automation, and operational support of cloud environments.
  • Understanding of connected and embedded systems, including architectural tradeoffs, communication protocols, and integration considerations.
