Position- Cloud Engineer (GCP Platform Engineering Lead)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified GCP Platform Engineering Lead to support our client in New Jersey. This role will be involved in building and running the internal platform capabilities (automation, golden paths, guardrails) that enable secure, scalable application onboarding on GCP.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (MS preferred).
  • 7+ Years of total experience within related skills and technologies.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead platform engineering delivery for onboarding automation (Terraform modules, pipelines, validations).

  • Define engineering standards (module quality, state strategy, PR controls, drift management).

  • Embed security-by-default guardrails and partner on compliance evidence automation.

  • Operate the platform: reliability, incident response, SLOs/SLAs, continuous improvement.

Required qualifications

  • Deep hands-on GCP + Terraform at scale; strong Python automation experience.

  • Experience leading platform teams and operating production-grade internal platforms.

  • Strong security and governance mindset in regulated environments.

Success measures- High adoption of golden paths; reduced onboarding lead time; stable platform with low operational toil.

Compensation : The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 per year depending on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
