<p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Operations to build, lead, and scale the operational infrastructure supporting our next-generation digital banking platform.</p><p>The Director of Business Operations will work closely with Senior Leadership, Partner Banks, Compliance, Risk, Treasury, Product, and Technology teams to develop scalable operational controls, maintain service reliability, and support continued platform growth.</p><p>This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for candidates with deep experience in digital banking, fintech platforms, or API-based payment infrastructure, and who are comfortable building operational frameworks in a high-growth fintech environment. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>1. <strong>Operations Framework & Process Development </strong>- Design and implement the operational infrastructure supporting the company’s digital payments platform, including:</p><ul><li>Develop end-to-end operational workflows for digital transaction processing </li><li>Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for: </li><li>Payment operations </li><li>Transaction verification </li><li>Exception handling </li><li>Reconciliation </li><li>Incident management </li><li>Design transaction approval and dual-control workflows for high-value transactions </li><li>Implement operational controls aligned with AML, sanctions screening, and fraud prevention frameworks in coordination with Compliance </li><li>Develop operational training programs and documentation for operations staff </li><li>Drive continuous operational improvements to enhance automation, efficiency, and scalability </li><li>Evaluate and implement advanced automation technologies, including <strong>AI/ML-driven operational monitoring and controls</strong> </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>2. Digital Payment Operations - </strong>Oversee daily operations supporting digital transaction flows across U.S. payment rails, including<strong>:</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor transaction queues and automated payment workflows </li><li>Manage payment release processes and operational controls </li><li>Handle transaction exceptions, rejects, and return processing </li><li>Ensure adherence to payment processing windows and settlement timelines </li><li>Maintain operational service levels and platform reliability </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>3. Bank & Payment Network Coordination- </strong>Serve as the primary operational liaison with partner banks and payment networks:</p><ul><li>Coordinate payment processing and settlement activities with partner banks </li><li>Monitor transaction activity and operational requirements </li><li>Investigate and resolve payment failures and processing errors </li><li>Coordinate operational issue resolution with banking partners </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>4. Operational Risk & Controls - </strong>Establish and maintain strong operational risk controls:</p><ul><li>Implement dual-control approval processes for high-value transactions </li><li>Review flagged or unusual transaction activity </li><li>Manage operational exception queues and investigations </li><li>Support incident management and operational risk response </li><li>Coordinate with Compliance on suspicious activity investigations </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>5. Customer Operations & Transaction Verification - </strong>Oversee customer operational processes and transaction verification:</p><ul><li>Establish callback verification procedures for high-risk transactions </li><li>Design fraud prevention and beneficiary verification workflows </li><li>Supervise customer operations and client service support </li><li>Ensure proper documentation of verification activities </li><li>Escalate suspicious or irregular transactions </li><li>Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams on investigations </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>6. Cross-Functional Collaboration - </strong>Work closely with internal teams to ensure platform reliability:</p><ul><li>Partner with Technology on payment integrations and APIs </li><li>Collaborate with Compliance on AML and regulatory requirements </li><li>Support Product development for payment functionality and scalability </li><li>Work with Treasury on liquidity and settlement operations </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in payments operations, digital banking, or fintech platforms </li><li>Strong knowledge of U.S. payment systems, including: </li><li>ACH (NACHA Network) </li><li>FedNow / real-time payments </li><li>Domestic and international wires </li><li>Experience with digital banking platforms or API-based payment infrastructure </li><li>Experience managing automated transaction flows </li><li>Strong understanding of operational risk controls </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in digital bank, neobank, or fintech company </li><li>Experience supporting cross-border payments </li><li>Experience supporting high-net-worth or institutional clients </li><li>Familiarity with AML / sanctions monitoring </li><li>Experience working with API-driven financial infrastructure</li></ul>
