Senior Manager, Audience Marketing

Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager Pro Marketing will be responsible for both driving the strategy of and execution behind THD's audience marketing initiatives. This person will be responsible for leading a team that helps define brand strategy and governance. In addition the team  designs audience-based marketing strategies. This role is responsible for leading agency relationships, working with media partners to plan and execute audience-driven campaigns, creating and curating content and championing the evolution of audience-based marketing at The Home Depot. This role will utilize data, analytics and technology to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to create relevant experiences. They are responsible for designing, developing, and executing an annual audience marketing strategy and plan according to rapidly evolving technology and data capabilities. They will deliver ongoing recommendations and updates to improve the customer experience, delivery mechanisms and content relative to KPIs. This person will provide thought leadership and help shape impactful innovation by stimulating customer-centric design. They will work across functional groups as a means to explore new technology integrations that better the customer experience while exposing more of the customer journey


Key Responsibilities:

  • 30% Work cross-functionally w/key stakeholders (e.g., Customer Insights, Marketing Analytics, HD.com, Merchandising, Marketing, PR, & Social). Responsible for effectively driving education & partnerships internally/externally in organization.
  • 40% Program Mgmt -Design/execute audience-marketing strategy for Agile campaigns (developing hypothesis, data strategy; creative strategy, activation and reporting activities. Strategic recommendations to scale Agile Marketing, integration into business priorities; share knowledge w/ stakeholders. Direct external agency team.
  • 30% Reporting/Metrics -Ensure programs delivered on-time/ budget & determine effectiveness of Agile spend/ resource. Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring impact of audience-marketing programs, & analyze effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results. Build weekly status reports and executive-level presentations as needed.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This role reports to the Sr Director of Agile Marketing.
  • This position has 2 direct reports.


Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to understand the basics of technology associated with social media, customer communications, online marketing and eBusiness - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to think and respond quickly maintaining attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Brand Marketing experience
  • Retail Marketing experience
  • Data analytics experiences
  • Programmatic buying, audience-centered marketing experience is a plus
  • Budget Management
  • Agency Account/Project Management


Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
