Overview

This is an overnight shift from 10pm-6am. Join our dynamic transportation team as a Tow Truck Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring swift and efficient roadside assistance and vehicle recovery. In this energetic role, you'll coordinate tow truck operations, manage dispatching tasks, and communicate seamlessly with drivers, customers, and service providers.

Your proactive approach will help deliver prompt solutions, keep operations running smoothly, and enhance customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming service requests via multi-line phone systems and digital platforms, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Use GPS and GIS tools to accurately locate vehicles in need of assistance and assign the nearest available tow truck efficiently.
  • Coordinate dispatching activities using transportation management systems such as Towbook and samsara.
  • Track vehicle status, update job progress, and document all activities through data entry into systems like AS400 or transportation management software.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to relay instructions, updates, and estimated arrival times.
  • Monitor fleet management systems to ensure proper vehicle utilization, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all dispatch activities, incidents, and service logs to support analysis skills and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret GPS data, transportation planning information, and logistics reports.
  • Excellent communication skills paired with phone etiquette that fosters positive interactions with customers and team members.
  • Proficiency in typing quickly and accurately for efficient data entry across multiple platforms such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
  • Experience with GIS technology, GPS navigation tools, or transportation management systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with freight operations, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management practices.
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics, transportation planning, and 3PL operations enhances your effectiveness in this role. This position is paid and offers a vibrant environment where your dispatching expertise will drive operational success!
