You'll set technical direction for our backend platform serving millions of users, guide an engineering team, and own architecture decisions for distributed services that must be fast, reliable, and secure at scale.</p> <p>This role suits someone who wants to design secure, scalable systems and write the code that runs them. </p> <p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define and evolve the architecture of our backend platform serving connections from millions of users</li> <li>Design and build highly available distributed services in Golang while setting technical direction on scalability, reliability, and performance targets  </li> <li>Lead code reviews and champion testing discipline, clean architecture, and engineering best practices across the team</li> <li>Partner with the SDK team to integrate client features cleanly into backend systems and deliver end-to-end functionality</li> <li>Mentor engineers and grow the technical depth of the team while collaborating with security, infrastructure, and product teams</li> <li>Drive the team to meet performance targets and ship reliable products that protect users at scale</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.</li> <li>8+ years of backend engineering & architecture experience with 5+ years in Golang</li> <li>Proven track record designing and operating distributed systems at scale with deep understanding of networking protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS)</li> <li>Hands-on experience with VPN protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec), tunneling, NAT traversal, and low-latency networking</li> <li>Production experience on AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, Aurora/RDS) with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and strong Linux development background</li> <li>Working knowledge of cryptography fundamentals, threat modeling methodologies, secure coding practices, and strong API design skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Points</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Computer Science or related field</li> <li>Network performance tuning and optimization experience with knowledge of Python and Java</li> <li>Experience with NoSQL databases and familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)</li> </ul> <p><strong>#LI-REMOTE</strong></p> <p>Point Wild is committed to offering a generous package to support our employees in all aspects of their life in and out of work.
