Campus Chapter Intern - University of South Carolina

<p>POSITION SUMMARY:  <br>The Campus Chapter Intern (CCI) is a student intern who represents NMDP on their college campus. Interns must be currently enrolled undergraduate students at the University of South Carolina. Their primary objective is to create or maintain a registered student organization (chapter) on their campus, develop and grow the membership of that chapter, and mobilize that chapter to engage students to educate, recruit, and fundraise in support of the NMDP mission. The CCI will work closely with the regional territory team to plan campus wide events, deliver captive audience presentations, establish consistent tabling opportunities and collaborate with student organizations to recruit quality individuals to the NMDP registry. The CCI is responsible for managing partnerships focused on assigned audience(s) and/or program(s). The CCI’s target recruitment audience is 18-24 years olds with focus on partnerships and organizations with high African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander student membership.</p><p>ACCOUNTABILITIES:  <br>•    Participate in program communications, complete required check-ins, and attend a weekly call with the Supervisor, Account Manager, and Member Recruitment Coordinator<br>•    Lead chapter operations by advising chapter leadership toward goals and serving as acting chapter president as needed<br>•    Recruit, retain, and engage a balanced, representative chapter membership and mobilize members to support education, recruitment, and fundraising<br>•    Deliver a weekly captive audience presentation to educate and recruit prospective registry members<br>•    Establish and staff consistent tabling opportunities to maintain on-campus visibility (minimum four hours per month in highly frequented locations)<br>•    Build and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and partners and complete timely follow-up to enable campus awareness and education efforts<br>•    Collaborate with student organizations and event organizers to expand outreach and recruit and educate prospective registry members<br>•    Promote recruitment and education efforts via social media and other available distribution channels<br>•    Plan and execute one campus-wide Member Education and Registration event per semester, including logistics, volunteers, materials, and follow-up<br>•    Coordinate activities and priorities with the territory team and communicate progress, barriers, and upcoming opportunities<br>•    Maintain student status throughout the internship term and model belonging and inclusion in interactions and chapter practices<br><br>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br>Knowledge of:<br>•    NMDP mission and key lifesaving messages used to educate others about NMDP and the Registry<br>•    NMDP member registration process, including steps, requirements, and standards<br>•    Computer systems and tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet search applications<br>    <br>Ability to:<br>•    Demonstrate belief and commitment to NMDP’s mission<br>•    Demonstrate drive and determination to educate and inspire peers to join a cause<br>•    Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking mentorship and leadership development<br>•    Create, develop, manage, and activate a volunteer team to host executive board and general body meetings, recruit new members, maintain good standing with the college/university, and achieve goals<br>•    Communicate effectively with peers, staff, and administrators<br>•    Maintain a collaborative and future-focused mentality<br>•    Stay highly organized and prioritize time for CCI activities without interfering with academic commitments<br>•    Work successfully both independently and as part of a team in a remote, virtual environment<br>•    Work in partnership with others and delegate responsibilities as needed<br>•    Adapt and problem-solve when things don’t initially go as planned<br>•    Use social media platforms to effectively promote NMDP’s lifesaving mission</p><p>        Education and/or Experience:<br>•    Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a targeted college or university<br>•    Completed at least 30-hours of coursework<br>•    Minimum GPA 2.8<br>•    Meet or exceed the college/university’s Standard Academic Progress requirements</p><p>Time Commitment:<br>•    The selected individual commits to serve in this role for a full academic year and a summer, with the targeted term beginning in June 2026 and ending in May 2027.  <br>•    On average, 10 hours/week time commitment <br>•    Active attendance in a weekly 1:1 call with supervisor<br>•    Active attendance in a weekly CCI team call<br>•    Live attendance or a review of the recording of Monthly National Chapter Program calls<br>•    Active attendance in onboarding training<br>     o    Virtual- Summer 2026 dates TBD<br>•    Active attendance at Chapter Program Meeting<br>     o    Minneapolis, MN – July 20-22 <br>     o    All travel, food, lodging covered by NMDP<br>     o    Contingent upon travel restrictions and budget<br>Pay rate:<br>•    $18.50/hour</p><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br>•    Preference given to students who are currently NMDP Chapter members, NMDP Ambassadors and/or NMDP volunteers<br>•    Previous leadership roles, professional or volunteer<br>•    Experience in planning and facilitating meetings, including agenda preparation<br>•    Experience in goal setting and timeline planning<br>•    An enthusiasm for personal and professional development</p><p>HOW THIS ROLE WILL BENEFIT YOU:<br>As a Campus Chapter Intern, you will gain a wealth of leadership experience.
